To Pray

for Others and

Pray for the World

Established in 1947

A Vocation

is a mystery of grace.

No one deserves a vocation, strictly speaking.

"I have chosen you."

The Trappist Monk embraces the call to serve God and neighbor in the contemplative life of the cloister.

The Monk realizes that his hidden life of prayer and sacrifice reaches out to his brother and sister living in the world through the mystery of God's grace and mercy.

This is truly an Apostolic Life.

                                While striving for self-sanctification,

the Monk realizes his need for the prayers of others and

his duty to gather others into his own life of prayer and self-denial.

The Trappist Monk embraces the call to serve God

and neighbor in the contemplative life of the cloister.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,

even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,

that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love."

This quotation from the Letter to the Ephesians contains the origin and source of all

and every vocation to seek God, both in general and in a particular way.

It is a call that seeks a response.

It comes from the depths of God's freedom and love.

And the response must come from one's freedom and love.
