Why be a Trappist-Cistercian Monk?

Because God called me to this state, and life has been getting better ever since.

The location of this abbey in a scenic mountain valley, elevation 5000 feet, provides inspiring views of God's magnificent creation all year around.

We have four distinct seasons, each with its own beauty.

The abbey owns sufficient property on all sides to ensure solitude.

Some homes are visible,

but they are distant.

There is wildlife in the area.

If one intends to spend the rest of his life in a monastery,

it is prudent to choose one situated in a spectacular setting.

I found tremendous meaning and happiness in the

Trappist-Cistercian life.

  My life has been fulfilled,

and my desires completed

in a life

concentrated on prayer,

my intimate communication

with the Lord.

My life has been fulfilled

on community living,

through which I'm challenged to grow through

relationships into a great strength of character.

My life has been fulfilled

through Religious Concentration.

Through my vows

I give up my natural right to a spouse and family,

ownership and

administration of property,

and even my own will.

I do this all as a sacrifical love-offering to my God, as a powerful prayer for the benefit of myself, my loved ones,

and the whole world.

MY TRAPPIST-CISTERCIAN

VOCATION

IS A

UNIVERSAL BLESSING.
